Engagement
I proposed to Rachel on January 9, 2010 at the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago.
One of our favorite aspects of the day was the opportunity to involve both Rachel’s maid of honor, Krista Holtzgraefe, and my best man, Rene Deleon. I told Krista the plan a week in advance. She kept the secret safe and was my partner in crime at the conservatory, snapping incredible pictures of the deed being done.
For dinner Rene hooked us up with a last minute reservation at Alinea where he has worked for the last three years. Everyone went out of their way to give us the VIP treatment, serving us 21 courses over 3.5 hours. Rene then joined us afterwards at the Violet Hour for some celebratory cocktails.
